My Friend

My Friend,

I hold your face

with gentle hands,

gazing into

your soulful eyes.

I take your wrists

and kiss the red

and branded skin;

a careful breath escapes.

My throat cannot vocalize

the things I wish to say,

but may my presence declare

 the things my mouth cannot.
