For My Friend

My dearest friend. Why do you do this to yourself? 365 days, you say We’ve been together. But why is that behind that weak smiles hides 270 days full of tears? Is it worth it? I love him, you say. Is it worth it? It’s getting better, you say. Let me tell you -- It’s not. You say that sticks and stones may break may bones but I will always love him. Fool! Blinded by a lost love. Fine, perhaps China you broke with the weight of your sin, but trying to glue what’s already broken leaves you only with gushing wounds. Your own fault is your ball and chain. But you can’t please him. Opposites do not attract. I love you. My words may sting, but look at you. Look. Is it really worth it?
