my friend

I couldn’t leave, I wanted to,
But you were me, and I was you,
And it was true, though built on lies,
Blinded with two open eyes.
I should have left, but I did not,
And now it burns, the fire’s hot,
I slowly rot, the choices made,
I want to be, but not afraid.
Embracing death, escaping life,
Gutted by a rusty knife,
Bleeding, seems is without end,
Still in shock… my love… my friend…
