My "Friend" College

I told myself if I was to ever write a poem it would be about you College Oh , The unbearable fascination I have for you . The days on end when I stare at you hoping and praying for your acceptance. “I got in” Its not like you owe me anything anyway . Our friendship is based on how I behaved in previous relationships… Intuitions , private schools , public schools , extracurricular activities , attendance ….. And I hate it . Why do I have to always do things for you? Why can’t you just be grateful and accept that its 2 a.m and I can’t seem to get you out of my head “I still need 11 thousand” I have to finish my journalism paper by six , send off my transcripts by nine , and fill out scholarships to cover the cost of you just being my friend!!!! “I have to resubmit to Turnitin again?” I wanted to call Sallie Mae , but I heard she was no better friend. You have my whole future in your hand!!!! “You really just don’t understand….” I’m writing my first poem just so I can have money to spend time with you You provide counselors but I want to confide in you Tell you thank you for changing my life and making me experience something new And all you gave me was a congratulations letter and when money for registration was due. “Umm, thank you”

It only gets better from here. College will teach you something (hopefully) that previous schools never would. Even if you don't end up following your plan, you can be happy and that's what matters.
