My friend, Mydear

When you turn and look

You see me

Not my body, not my beauty

Just warmth

When I look towards you

I see you

Not your body, nor your strength

Just perfection

Others see us

Supporting one and two

Not because of physical beauty

But for joy and relief

When you see me cry

You help me

Driving to our tree

With french fries and shakes

When you cannot continue

I help you

Walking you home

And staying till fear is gone

Yes, we were used

We see the ones who tore us down

Still trying to take

Yet that violence is gone

With you and I

We have found equality

In good and bad

Support in any circumstance

Together we talk about the past

We talk about now

Everything small and big

Because it is the way we heal

When I see you

And you see me

I can feel finally warmth of love

Without fear of being used

We love for now

Learning and communicating

And I can see the youth

Within each of us

When I see my future

I know we will not be forever

We have talked

And we have different dreams

But I have no fear

For the day when we part

I will not try to make you stay with me

You will not make me stay with you

In the future

We will be friends and still have love

I will continue to support you

And you will be my best friend
