My Friend Named Smurtle

I was taken from the world I knew

thrust into an unfamiliar life,

Darkness seemed to overtake me

chaos, anger, confusion, strife,

Removed from the place I loved so dear

and forced to go astray,

What was I to do? What was going to happen?

The questions greatly lay,

My family was taken, my school, my home

and all of my dear, dear friends,

Seemingly lost without them, and crying in my bed

my pain, my suffering, finally ends,

You were the person I looked to see

the one I hoped to find,

Laughter and joy, happiness and peace

our worlds were intertwined,

Your friendship grabbed me by the hand

and kept me out of depression,

You were the one I prayed for

and I kept hoping we would see no cession,

The light of my day in the dark of the night,

even when things seemed to hard to handle,

Never diminishing, never extinguished

Shining like a brightly lit candle,

One day I was taken from the unfathomable place

When I went to back world I had left before,

Life seemed not merely to close

but to harshly slam the opening door,

I was leaving the world that I had dread

but certain thoughts seemed resonate in my mind,

I was leaving all the fear and all the chaos

but I was also leaving you behind,

You were the key that opened my locked heart

the one who showed me what friendship was about,

You were the water, you were the soil

I, was the little growing sprout,

The year that I was taken was the absolute worst year of my life

the struggles away from you were too much to bear,

But you always looked after me, you always took watch of me

 showering me with your care,

I could never repay for what you have done

I go on missing your face still,

You made the worst year also be labeled the best

I could never forget you, and I never will.
