My Friendship

I believe that friendship is the connection to a person, so deep that falling in love with them sounds…stupid

Because to fall in love it means I would have to start

And that would be impossible because if we were honest, I already loved you

My dear friend, I love you so much that I don’t need to speak it

Because isn’t that what friendship means?

To love someone so dearly that marriage isn’t a need?

Well I guess I’m the only one

You claimed to share the happiness I felt for the friendship we made

But that was just pretend to you

You lied to me every time I asked for your feelings just for the sake of my smile

To know that we had all those hard days just to see the easy ones crush you

Didn’t you see they hurt me to?

You blamed yourself never sharing the pain, but that’s not healthy

I would have taken the parts you couldn’t handle

Because that’s what friends do, what I wanted to do for you

You couldn’t trust me and in the end it almost destroyed us both

But I’m still standing and so are you.

I’ve forgiven but you can’t

I’ll be waiting for the day when you come back to me

When we can share the pain

Until then know I’m here waiting,

My lifelong love

My dear friend

Because I love you
