To My Future Kids...

Love.

Love hard.

Without restraint.

You will get hurt more than once or twice,

feeling stupid,

and want to know why.

You will cry with no one knowing.

But my arms will be ready to rub your back.

You don’t have to stay strong in front of me,

You might be confused or lost for a while.

And all of that is okay.

But never

And I mean never

Let the hurt you experience make you hard

Because above all I want you to love.

Take all the time you need.

Come to me.

I promise to love you no matter how bad you might get.

Being a family,

We’ll get through the thick.

You learn through screwing up, making mistakes, and others too.

We’ll get through life together,

Family will always stick,

Will always get us through.
