to my future kids

barely getting any sleep,

going through each day working two jobs,

got future plans I have to keep,

but nobody knows of my wounds that are too deep,

walked miles with these feet,

drumming along to any down-to-earth beat,

I will not drown in defeat,

God, why is life so bittersweet,

To my future kids,

you'll have a bedroom with a bed,

you'll have food yeah you'll always be fed,

you can talk about any thoughts running through your head
