My Future Life
I crave a fulfilling future life.
One balanced between work and play.
To be an educated individual
Absolutely enjoying what I do every day.
I strive to design and create,
Using learned skills and natural abilities.
Creativity upon a foundation of math and science,
Constructing various public and private facilities.
I seek the ability to enjoy the many fruits of life.
Having time for friend and family events.
A healthy balance between work and play,
That is what will leave me feeling content.
My motivation for the future stems from the present.
Never will I understand someone's satisfaction
While existing as a minimum wage slave,
For who you are is defined by your actions.
Along with motivation and want there is fear.
My journey to my future life is demanding.
Hard work and effort is an absolute must.
I fear that by the end of it all I won't be standing.
I have learned to keep my mind and goals on track.
Learned to silence my thought that I'm not good enough.
Although I may have some hindering logic,
I keep to what I believe and know and that is enough.
I know that with a little hard work and perseverance,
The level of life I hope to reach isn't all that far away.
By staying optimistic and continuing my education,
My future life can become a reality today.
