To My Future Self
The road to adulthood and the road to recovery are practically the same,
Enduring the pain you’ve caused yourself and to those close to you-
forgive yourself.
Growing at the same pace your wounds heal is a funny feeling,
yet famiilar indeed.
For a long time I didn’t know my true colors and was at a lost.
I could sense pretty colors, ugly colors and strange colors with my monochromatic mind.
Fate is kind,
fate is cruel.
You've reached the shore after a while battling with the rough sea of youth.
So remember,
be kind,
make mistakes and have the courage to learn from those mistakes.
Continue to sail through the many seas you have yet to see.
By then, hopefully you’ll see what you couldn’t before.
Yours truly,
Your 17 year old self.
