To My Future Self

Dear Jessica,

This world will tell you that you aren't qualified.

They will express that you aren't good enough.

There is nothing wrong with a little pride,

and showing kindness doesn't mean you aren't tough.

You can't see how beautiful you are when you laugh,

but your smile radiates joy.

Just know that you are worth it,

and don't let that come from a boy.

With love,

Jessica
