To My Future Wife

Dear,

I have dreamed of you since I was a boy.

I was waiting for you, even when I wasn’t waiting.

Every crush I thought I had was a premonition of you.

I loved you before I knew you.

I saw your smile in every sunrise.

The first time I saw your eyes, it was in the stars of the heavens.

I witnessed your beauty in every picturesque mountain range, glittering beach, and green pasture.

When I placed my hand against my own beating heart, I felt the warmth of your embrace.

When I saw the tides come back each time they left, I glimpsed your faithfulness

Every time the music slowed, I danced with you.

When the melodies stopped me in my tracks and I closed my eyes to relish it, I felt a hint of the thrill you give me.

If I ever whispered the words to a love song, I was singing to you.

When the notes came together just right and I felt my soul soar, I heard echoes of our harmony.

When I wrote something I hated, I knew you were still proud of me.

All the love stories I wrote were with you in mind.

Of all my adventure stories, none were more exciting than the one I share with you.

When I crafted my heroes, I hoped I would be yours someday.

I’m a hopeless romantic for you.

My prayers were always that I would find you.

Of all the gifts God has given me, you are the most precious.

You are angelic.

You are heavenly.

Our love makes me anxious to reach my Father’s side.

When I wept, I could feel you there to dry my tears.

I cried at the injustice of the world because I knew the way it must be treating you.

As I grew into a comforter and an encourager, I desired to comfort and encourage you.

Every time I felt the comfort in an embrace, I longed to feel your arms around me.

When I took a sip of water on a hot summer day, I wondered if your kiss would feel like that.

I knew the feeling of your touch when I basked in the soft sun of a beautiful spring day.

I cherished every moment of our together before I met you.

All the times I smiled at the world in spite of my problems, I smiled at the sight of you.

When I see you, I see Christ living in you and I love you for it.

You are the mirror in which I see my better half.

When I prayed for a blessed and fulfilled life, I was praying for us.

God created us to be together.
