THIS IS MY GENERATION

I come from a generation where I am expected to fail

Peer pressure is at its max

We are robbing ourselves by taking the easy way out

Education is devalued, taken for granted

Drugs are abused more than knowledge is consumed

Respect is buried below the surface...MY GENERATION

I am challenged because I am young and black

I am expected to be pregnant by the age of eighteen

Guns and drugs are given more than hugs

My highest level of education is expected to be on a high school level

A woman can not work as hard as a man

My color determines who I am... MY GENERATION

If it was up to me I would make a change

Wasted education is erased

The government is not corrupt

Success, God, and family is the common place

Equality is hand and hand with unity

THIS IS MY GENERATION!
