My Ghetto

My ghetto isn’t a bad thing

My ghetto is the sounds of basketballs at 12 at night

My ghetto is 50 cent sodas at the corner store

My ghetto is helping the girl next door learn how to play double dutch

My ghetto is motorcycle engines and impatient horns

My ghetto is going to the Chinese store with rollers in your hair

My ghetto is playing in the park that hasn’t been used in years

My ghetto is staying in Mc Donald’s for two hours and not buying anything

My ghetto is going to the 99cent store which has everything

My ghetto is five hair salons right next to each other

My ghetto is ice cream trucks coming in December

My ghetto is you get shot on the block and everybody remembers

My ghetto is timberlands in the summa

My ghetto is socks and addidas in November

My ghetto is watching illegal fireworks on the 4th of july

My ghetto is laughing at the girl cursing out that guy

My ghetto is hopping on the back of the bus

My ghetto is watching the little kids make fuss

My ghetto is blasting music from your car

My ghetto is there barely street lights so you can even see a star

My ghetto is bloods and crips

My ghetto is chicken head girls whose hands stay on their hips

My ghetto is fitting 8 people into a four seater car

My ghetto is kool-aid singles that will make your energy go far

My ghetto is a black Chinese food deliverer named C

My ghetto is going into nail salon because the baby has to pee!

My ghetto is screaming chicken wings chicken wings

My ghetto is swimming at the bottom of the city pool and finding a gold ring

My ghetto isn’t glamorous as you can see

It isn’t as pretty as parkslope may be

But to me

My ghetto is wonderful

My ghetto is free

My ghetto is beautiful

My ghetto is me

My ghetto is home

And that’s what it will always be
