They showed me to be who I am

Never who others want me to be,

To do my best in everything that I do,

And never let anyone try to stop me.

I was shown the quality of growing,

Of listening,

And developing.

To always be aware of what or who I am around,

And to do my best to keep obstacles from pushing and shoving,

Their way into my life,

For I had a purpose.

I had a mentor,

Someone so loving and full of knowledge,

Someone who helped me step out of my shyness,

And into confidence.

Someone who sought out my best interests,

And helped me achieve my goals.

Someone who believed in me and whose doors never closed.
