My God

My God, the one who keeps me straight

He protects me, he listens to me

With him I will not be afraid.

He teaches lessons for me to learn

Harsh or saddening

So when my time comes I won't burn.

He keeps me from the way of evil

Away of all the hate and anger

One day I will be able soar like an eagle.

God is good, God is good

Since he is here I would never brood

My God, thank you is really all I can say

Because I know without you I would not be here today.
