To My Grandfather
Grandpa, my Grandpa,
Where did you go?
Did you go into the heavens,
Or down to the world below?
Is it nice there?
So heavenly sweet?
Or is it bad,
So horrible that I couldn’t believe?
Grandpa, my Grandpa
I know where you are going to go.
To a world I could only dream of,
A place that’s aglow.
With Scratches by your side,
You’ll meet her again
In heaven’s light,
And a soldier’s pride.
