To my Grandmother
Hello grandma, you probably don’t recognize me, but I’m your grandson. Do you remember the days I spent at your house eating crackers and cream cheese? Do you remember the days I helped you cook dinner and the time you took us to the park? I remember. Do you remember when you used to come watch me play basketball and even though we didn’t win you told us we made you proud. Do you remember playing tag in the alley, chasing the cats in your basement, and watching television with your giant remote that made me feel like a mouse? Grandma, do you remeber the day that Opa left you? Do you remeber the coin collection that I loved so much and how you told me stories for each coin? Do you remeber the day they told you you had cancer? Grandma, do you remeber the day I held your hand and told you I loved you and begged you not to die? Do you remember the last time I saw you when you were too weak to talk and too sick to want me to see you? Well I did see you grandma, but most of all I miss you.
