My Great Change
My Great Change
Who ever said all men are created equal,
Was born with a golden spoon in his mouth,
Equality is just a principle,
That the rich can afford with immense wealth.
I’d change the circumstances of ones birth
And I’d level the playing fields, to prove
Everyone would start out equal in worth,
And the strong willed would be the first to move.
I don’t believe in handouts
Without reciprocation,
But we, the strong, erase all doubts
Of failure, our success brings elation.
No one can distinguish rich from poor,
Because we all come from humble beginnings
And fought, not asked, for more
Ground, to earn the right to be winning.
It sickens me to see talent and ambition
Squandered, due to a lack of capital not cunning,
Because they refused to ask the rich for permission,
Who receive all and earn nothing.
You should have to earn the chance to succeed,
Not be born entitled to it,
It should not come down to best of breed,
But your gift and how you plan to use it.
