My Grief

My dear Grief, Will you ever fade away? In a day? A month? A year? Your intensity has dulled, yet you still linger here, Creating earth quakes of emotion When life is just becoming bearable. My Grief, I beg you... Leave me now. Go back to your place of dwelling. Back to your hole that's deep inside my heart. Let me live happily. Let me forget the pain. Beloved Grief, I pray you leave me. Leave only the memories most precious to me. Rob me of this despair, and leave me.
