My Growth

An attack on his heart was an attack to mine

My mother tried to convince us that we were fine

I was only a baby, I could not comprehend

I could not do anything, no I could not mend

Now I am older with so much more to learn

Now I have to worry, I have much concern

What will we eat, how will I pay?

How will I get there, will we be okay?

I am independent, self-driven, and strong

Because of all which has gone wrong

It serves as motivation to go on and be great

And show my mom how much I appreciate

Her love, her strength, and her kindness

Has made me destined for greatness
