My Hands
My Hands
Just so you know, my hands touched your food
I assure you they were absolutely clean,
Squeaky clean
My hands leveled the 5 ⅓ cups of flour
My hands cracked open each egg
My hands mashed those 6 cups of brown sugar
But I lost track at 4 cups, so my hands actually mashed 10 of those cups
Of brown sugar
Then my hands burned from grabbing those steaming cake pans,
So now my burning hands, with good dexterity, frost the cake
My burnt, hands aching from gripping that piping bag
Put 12 dollops of ganache on each star
They placed every oreo piece on that cake
One by one
My hands took a steaming hot knife
And made very precise cuts
They placed that piece of cake onto a plate
To bring it out to you
Just so you know, my hands touched your food
