My Happy Place

Location

Oh! The leaves crunch beneath my feet

And the only human sound is my heartbeat!

Looking to the horizon, I see the changing trees;

Their glorious, colorful beauty makes me quiver at the knees.

The gentle, cool breeze caresses my cheek,

Although that breeze is everything but meek.

I smell the forest's organic, earthy scent,

A welcoming message that nature has sent.

Above me is the piercing blue sky,

The only piece that doesn't say goodbye.

Autumn is my favorite season.

To be truthful, there's a reason:

Autumn's delightful beauty makes me smile.

I love to embrace it, even for a short while.

But the splendor to me will never die;

The colors swirl through my mind as I sigh.
