My Heart

My heart chases
Beating, trembling
A hope that shatters only to be remade
Only to be shattered again

My heart loves
Steadfast, enduring
A memory rich as if one day past
So fading now and lost to time

My heat breaks
Bruised, exhausted
A weakening clutch on what it cannot let go
A closer hold as distance grows
