My Heart

It's hard to put into words how I see myself

You can lie to others

But not to yourself

You cannot measure self-worth in a mirror or on a scale

It cannot be bought or be for sale

If I had to choose an aspect of myself to be proud of

It would be my heart

It's not just blood that passes through it

It's the love I show others

That gets me to it

Its the path to my soul

It will not let me down

From my first fall when my pride was broken

To my first love when my heart was the token

To helping a friend I did not think I could

When doing what is right when I think I should

My heart is endless

No walls to bind

No rules

No boundaries

Just loves divine

No words to kind

No deeds undone

No expectations

My HEART has won!
