My Heart Beat for Another Two Years Ago

my heart runs fast

but the bile in my throat deepens

you make me sick to my stomach

and my stomach sick to it’s stomach

your laugh resonates in my head

and the echo makes my brain nauseous

hatred runs my veins

anger is my fuel

just because your heart aches

does not mean mine does as well

my heart found its purpose

and your crocodile tongue will not

manipulate my thoughts or anyone else’s

your words will not strangle the truth of others

and you certainly will not

ruin my life again

I’ve waited for you, but when

my waiting has ceased, it’s now your turn

and you’ll wait an eternity

and an eternity more

you, a lie,

are no longer welcome in my home of truth.
