My Heart Is Speaking to You

As I struggle to contain my emotions;

My heart is speaking to you

And I've come to realize how much I care for you.

I know we shared a lot

Except for our deepest feelings

And that we weren't free to embrace them.

But the possibility of you in my life,

not as friends; but as my love, my heart,

my soul and yes, even my spouse.

That thought alone is strong enough to restore

the joy, the happiness, and the smile that I once knew.

But lately, it had become a stranger to me

And now, I want to share it with you.

But how can I when the demons of past rejections

And unaffectionate lovers that wore a façade,

Laced with poison dreams and romance

That was meant to kill the rose before it blooms?

Is constantly fighting me

As I try to break free from the shackles of

Disappointments and heartbreaks.

Now you have come into my life,

Release the shackles that held me captive

As waves of emotions overcome me

and now I can no longer contain them.

So here I am, alone with you;

My heart beating strong

And speaking to the one I adore.

Listen with your heart

and you shall know

That the times I'm with you

Feels like I'm in Heaven.

There's so much I want to share with you.

Not only just friendship but also

My mind, my heart, and my soul.

I want to share my world and my life with you.

I want to be the one that brings you happiness

When you're sad.

Put a smile on your face,

The sun that lights your world when all seems dark

And the one to shine upon you with the light of love

As we walk our path as one.

Now my heart is speaking to you.

I pray that we will embrace the moment,

Take a chance to see where love will lead us,

And explore the rest of our lives together as one.
