my heart is a vessel

Location

my heart was a vessel
that I did not know how to sail
so I let it drift on
hoping to never cross another soul

but it was inevitable
so my heart sailed - on and on
careening into the depths
of a treacherous sea - infinite

my heart it sailed on
hitting every boulder and rock
and all I did was watch
all I did was watch

my heart it sailed on
until it collided with an iceberg
and all I did was watch
all I ever did was watch

watch and scream
clutch tightly to the edge
kneel down and pray
and suffer, suffer, suffer

because my heart is a vessel
I do not know how to sail

Many of us have been there. It is indeed a vessel that we constantly find difficulty trying to steer.
