My Hero

My hero is my grandpa

Someone who I saw no flaw

He woke up healthy and happy

That day he fell so snappy

I saw him go from a working guy

To a man who could have died

From a little blood on his head

To a cracked skull, left him on his bed

Doctors came in saying memory loss

Leaving me to pray to the cross

Would he remember me

Oh how I pleased

Day by day passed

Hes off life support I gasped

My superhero would now come home

Which would leave me to roam

What man can be dying

To someone who never stopped trying

Someone who had no flaw

Was always my grandpa

I went from a little girl

Who had dreams and a dress to twirl

To a big girl with big wishes

To understand the importance of his kisses
