My Hero
"Wake up! Breakfast!" I hear my hero kindly shout,
Little sister’s running feet loudly ring throughout.
Aromas of bacon and pancakes sneak under my bedroom door,
Tired feet pull me out of bed and slowly scuff across the floor.
I enter the kitchen, my hero’s standing over the stove,
I come to my prepared plate, into my breakfast I dove.
Bacon so crispy, pancakes fluffy and sweet,
My hero's meals are always my favorite treat.
Stomach full, plate licked clean and set into the sink,
Thank my hero for a superb meal, she returns a wink.
Gentle kiss on top my head,
“I love you,” she sweetly said.
Staring at my hero's beautiful smiling face,
Every curled blonde hair in perfect place.
Loving green eyes, soft make-up just right,
Bright colored blouse, striped apron tied tight.
While Dad’s at work magically she does it all,
Cooking, cleaning all tasks finished, big or small.
I aspire to be just like my hero, she is the bomb,
She's lovely, kind, caring and a wonderful mom!
