My Highwayman

I'm back in black

Still alive

I Traveled to the Iron Jungle

I enjoyed the tussle and struggle

To attract bundles

Of what helps keep me humble

Relationships I fumbled

50+ still learning to walk after every stumble

I survive like a tribe

Fight like a silver-back

Live like I got nine lives

Still alive

I planted a tree

That bared fruit that nutritionalized me

With admiration, gratification,

Cherishment, sentiment,

Fascination, appreciation

I am respected

We danced to the weather whether it be harmonious or warlike

I adore my Family Tree

Memorable is my toothless grin

My presence, my spirit

Still Alive

The tree grew

As well as the fruit

As I began to live what I knew

It seemed I was in pain

But the temporary

Never outweighed the permanent therapy

I laughed enough

I cried enough

I fought enough

I survived enough

I enjoyed enough

I shared enough

I want to rest

Still alive

You won't recognize me

Although I mirror what you breathe

What you feel

Express it

No need to be selfish

What I'm doing is selfless

You understand

And you don't

I was a father

I was a husband

I was a friend

I was a grandfather

Now,

I am whatever I want to be

Still alive
