My Home Town

My home town. By r.p. stevens 2:07 a.m. 11/8 It's s little town in Florida It's a magnet, it will grab ya The county is called Putnam The city is palatka. I call it the bulls eye Cause it is smack in the middle Go 45 mins any way These cities are not little Jump on 17 head north 45 minutes Tall buildings, and the jaguars Duval city limits take 207 or even 206 Over the bridge and travel east Oldest city in the state Augy dog, or st Augustine beach Maybe you like honey Well then 100 is what you'll take You will find yourself in Daytona Where they hold, ole spring break Take a relaxing stroll, of wilderness Jump on highway 19 Ocala national Forest A country boys dream. College life, and night clubs I told you there was plenty Head on to the swamps big game Gainesville just take 20 There a lot of other places that surround my home town Please forgive me if I forget Or even leave some out Take 100 to lake city But first keystone and starke Don't get caught by the Barden booger or The panther in ravines state park. How bout club Remy, teen town, And lumber from Scotty's . . I remember all of them they will never be forgotten They aren't made up This is not just for dreamers I'm gonna throw it way way back Holiday inn and streamers Vaughn at breakers And bubba at highway Mart The crew at Nikos pizza This town I'll never part.. The sand pits, furternal, And even little moody The flowing well, mondex How bout the old movies. The jail was at the river Burger King was at taco Bell Partying at the old airport Man this town was swell. Lundy road was the spot. Lucky way would sell to minors Gp always stunk Angels the oldest diner Moccasin Creek was a country bar Bradley's did not exist Woody's is now sitting Where Walt's use to sit. My small town is changing And I sit and watch her grow Hotels at the river Now home depot and a Lowes Big lots was Walmart But it wasn't a super center Blockbuster was where You can get a Chinese dinner.. I'm gonna throw it back again. On that little road called moody Almost near 100 Roller skating and feeling groovy But wait there is more The old HRS building Near the library, on 20 Skating rink there silly The mall had an arcade On 100 was car audio Mark moved it to the river Then to 20 was its home The pawn shop next to the mall Terry was his name Forrester field was for softball My dad he ran that game. Water tower stood tall Next to the azalea bowl Damn my little town I live in She sure is getting old. Washington Street was the worst Don't cross them rail road tracks Now it's just a road West over is where it's at.. Beer tent at the blue crab Swimming at devil hole Now driving in the woods is cool Welcome Hogwaller mudhole Grad week at crescent Beach Ravines held all middle school dances You ain't never had BBQ Rumors flying sandwichs Well southwells we miss you Corky bells it was a blast 5 points sub on outback bread And candy from way back To the Glen, and the river Relaxing on the sand bar Cracker swamp road Best shrumes by far High level, and spurs, deans still, And steamboats The favorite place for one to drink Sink or swim is the way to go Well these are what I remember Of palatka then and now I know this place isn't great But it's our little town.. Playing baseball at Shaw buck Rotary and even Fred green Chevy looking like squatting dogs They call it palatka lean.. P-town riders...
