My hope

I wanna know if you agree,

With the thoughts I carry,

How our lives, need to change

With positive outcomes,

No longer hold fear,

By walking anywhere,

Feeling safe,

The poems I read,

I can relate to due to the emotions I encounter,

But I feel,

I could never understand,

What some people see,

But I can imagine what they hear and feel,

The fear,

Of being scared,

News headlines,

Making my spine ache,

With anxiety and fear for others

Never do I wanna see my brother,

Be afraid,

Praying for something good to come,

in the headlines,

Trying to figure out any signs given,

For we are driven,

For change to come from this generation,

that will affect the nation.
