My husband loves meDespite

My husband loves me Despite what everyone says I know he loves me There’s a special feeling when our skin makes contact Breast to breast, nose to nose, cheek to fist He shows the world his love for me My husband paints my body the color of love Shades of blue and green that would make Poseidon jealous Hues of red that remind God himself of the hidden wonders He put into this world And you wonder why our blood is hidden? Such beautiful colors he only wants to share with me He tells me to see how beautiful I am Only he appreciates my inner beauty The anger he feels is only jealousy The PDA, Painful Display of Affection I receive is only temporary How dare another man eyeball me? I am his property Look at how infinite his love is Look at how lucky I am Have you ever seen a man love his wife so much that he beats the rhythm of their wedding song into her skin? So I never forget the lyrics he tells me He’s such a romantic Even when he hugs me, he makes sure to grab me tight So I won’t leave him He makes me stare him in the eyes So I never deceive him So he can look into my soul and know me inside and out He says the only reason he inflicts pain is because he wants to recognize me post apocalypse The only reason he administers tears is so he can see his reflection in them So we truly become mirror images of one another He falls in love with his reflection almost as much as Narcissus fell in love with his own When my bones crack, he envisions shackles opening My freedom is a burden He’s lifting my burden Would your husband do that for you? I don’t have to think anymore when I’m with him Don’t have to worry “my pretty little head” I shouldn’t even worry about breathing About living Why bother living when he’s suffocating the life out of me? I mean the pain I mean the guilt I mean the tears I mean I’m sorry Baby, please, just don’t beat me anymore When I’m with my husband I don’t have to be my own person He overshadows me until we truly become one
