My Infamy
Although I have written
Many things quite derogatory,
Against the human condition,
I don’t consider it blasphemy.
What I say is simply truth to me…
I must admit I have been critical
Against something that is apparently so crucial.
I have however been mistaken,
I guess I had just forgotten.
The same demonized condition
Has created, in its imagination:
Love, peace, hope, and trust.
Although most regard the latter three
As something we have and use readily.
I see them as goals and the only idea in use,
Is love, and even that is used sparingly.
We hold these truths to be self-evident…
But that is my idea and I tend to believe what I tell myself.
I can believe others as well, that influences my self.
However this is the infamy that I have for myself,
And not what others have for me.
Not because I do not care, my opinion simply matters more to me.
Since this poem is a way to ensure my sanity…
