My Inner Demon

I don't remember the day we met,

when i sat unwittingly, while up you crept

whispering false promises to my foolish ears

and pretended to care and wipe away my tears.

Slowly I gave you my mind and heart

and you sat and devoured it, every bit and part.

And in thaat haze i did not regret,

letting you take control and make me forget

every good thing that had ever happened to me

and you cackled with delight 'cause I'd never again be happy.

I dont remember the day  let you surface in my mind,

I wish I'd had someone to talk to, that night.
