My Insecure Love
Though I know only he can hear me, for only he will listen,
I fear for the oppresion, for the hate and the back lash.
I know I shouldn't fear his love, but embrace it, hold it close,
Yet a part of me still doubts, i still feel I'm not enough.
I can feel my heart beat faster, start to fly, become a flutter,
Yet sometimes I must wonder if this "love" is just as pure.
I question him as I question myself, and then question all my questions,
Knowing I shouldn't doubt, I should accept with no bouts and continue on with my own loving.
Yet I must still figure out if this love is pure, if his heart is solely mine,
But I know that he's true, that he's faithful, yet still fear the impossible.
Knowing my own dark past and his bright future, I refrain from going too close,
But I still love him so, that I know but won't show due to my own insecurities.
It is hard to phrase these feelings inside, all a jumbled and tangled mess,
And despite my doubts, I still love him so, I can't help it.
