My Keeper

I am not one to be an open book,

and yet when it comes to you

nothing is ever a secret.

The things i try to hide

you find and hold it in your heart.

Locked away and hidden from

the prying eyes of others.

You hold on as if it were to fly away

like a restless bird locked in a cage

waiting, hoping to be freed.

Not one word has ever escaped

your lips of my secret, not even a breath.

But there is one secret you

shall never know.

A longing to be with you

and though I know this may

never come true.

It is more like a dream, tucked away

in the back of my mind.

Only appearing ever so often, and if you

were ever to find out this little dream of mine.

All Shall fade, my world of dreams will

cease to exist.

And I? I  will be alone with only the

memories to keep me company.

And if you do accept my dream,

Will you hold on to me like all the secrets?

Would you fear that one day you will

have to free me?

I hope so.

So I will hold on to my little dream.

Tuck it into the back of my head.

And if you ever find my dream, I hope

you'll keep it and not let it go.

I'll be here waiting, dreaming, hoping

that one day my dream will flourish and

become a dream no more... But become my reality.
