My letter of remembrance

Dear Abuser,

Nice to see you again,

no matter the undoubtledly awful situation.

Flowers of all kinds float around the room.

And a preacher says a prayer while everyone sobs.

Well, not me.

I will remember you,

not for your good deeds,

not for your jokes,

or your smile.

I will remember the marks you left,

the words you spoke,

the debt you never paid.

But, I will remember you.

Sincerely,

         A sad, sad girl.
