My life

its cold as i sit alone tonight, with no one to shed a bit of light, holding onto my past, not wanting anything to last, time seems to stand still, even though that is against my will, nothing can erase the pain, or the thoughts that make me go insane, i just want to be free, can anybody hear me. my life was never perfect, but what should i expect, i was never left alone, now im as cold as stone, my heart frozen to its core, and my arms are sore, i took comfort with steel, not allowing myself time to heal, now as i bleed, i think of the life i lead, its not worth it anymore, i found people that i adore, for them i will put away my knife, for them i'll change my life. i want to turn my life around, before it comes crashing to the ground, i control my life now, and i refuse to back down, things are in my hands, and i found someone who understands, i found who i want to be, so im finally...free.

This is a great and it takes the reader on your journey with you. The AABB rhyme scheme kept a steady beat throughout the poem and your use of imargery in lines like "now im as cold as stone, my heart frozen to its core" is amazing. This poem is about your life, and if youa re interested in writing more about your surroundings, check out "poetry writing tips" under the "resources" section for some ideas!
