My Life

My life on the outside Seems so perfect and so sweet But when you look on the inside Your expectations will be beat I’m not this happy person That I always seem to be And if you looked inside my heart You wouldn’t like the real me I’m crying and I’m hurting For someone to set me free But hey, who am I kidding No one else will ever see I try so very hard But I never seem to make it My life is worthless anyway I guess I’ll have to take it But wait, what’s that in the distance A man all dressed in white When I’m standing in his presence I feel so pretty and so bright Is this the man that they call Jesus The one sent to rescue me Or is this just another illusion Or some silly fantasy No, this can’t be real He is perfect, can’t you see What would he ever want With a little sinner just like me
