My Life

I was not happy

nor was I sad, but more than likely

he let me down, my own brother

told me he loved me, but did he mean it?

Momma and daddy prayed for him

but he didn't see where it was working.

Drugs and drinking lead to no good

but that didn't stop him from doing more.

Raising my niece and nephew was so much fun,

tiring, and hard.

Some of the worse times made me mature before I

even knew what it mean't. But I knew to love them

more than I loved myself.

Daddy and momma would both be mad, for what though?

My brother came home and the kids was excited

but we knew in a matter of hours, he would be gone.

My heart would break but that wasn't the first time

from all the times before. I seen who he actually was

a man that I have never seen before came home.

He looked like my brother before the drugs, came and hugged me

and I knew that hug.

My real brother came back to life and I was happy

because I knew who that was.
