My Life
You’ve recently joined the pummel party
You all have been with me since I was little
Only recently you’ve come out to play
Playing with my thoughts and emotions
Pop! There goes my life in a bubble
Dear Anxiety,
You rattle me in my sleep
You make me fear the ones I love
You hold me against my will
My body alive while my mind is mysteriously missing
To a place that is free of you
You make all of my friends disappear
Disappear to a place of security
Dear Depression,
You are the monster underneath my bed
You make me hate everything about myself
My body, my grades, my relationships, but most of all my existence
You are the constant headache, I have every waking moment
Another beat aching to attack
Then you tore open my life like a snack,
You were ready to devour
Crunch crunch
Spilled everywhere,
Dear Bipolar,
Have you met my friends depression and anxiety?
They always will be by your side
You’ve jumbled up my brain and confused the little people inside
You don’t understand the pain that you cause
The pain of heartbreak
The pain in my chest that makes me unable to breathe
The pain that is unforeseen
Dear brain,
Have you forgotten how to keep balance?
Have you given up on helping me?
These new friends you’ve brought me are killing me inside
After all we’ve been through
After all our late night talks
How could you do this to me?
How could you let them in?
Dear everyone,
Shh! I’m speaking now
I’m speaking for everyone with mental health issues
When I say stop!
Stop controlling our lives
Stop saying that we are worthless
Stop bringing us to the point of self harm
Stop killing us
All we want is for you to be quiet
All we want is for you to go away
So when I say be quiet
Be quiet
