My Loci

What is life without the mind?

What heart knows not of how kind?

Why must we always struggle to find-

The wind and the water the feeds our strife

The power that fuels the fire to our eternal life

What kind of eye has no sight

Light- light has forsaken us

We quenched the flames with our own lust

We fear the dark so we hide in shadows

Blissfully blind for our own wistful mind

Searching and seeking the truths that never knew how to hide

Cast away in deep limbo

Far away from the grasp of any ocean's tide

And fastly sinking through the torrents

I cry and I cry

I cry for my mind

I call out to my soul

I have no escape

No alternative ending

No warm sunrise or cool dusk to take refuge

I have no palace in which to find

A soft bed in which to lie

Stagnation my head must never know stagnation

May my eyes never lose sight

May my mouth never cease to speak the words

That my hands so assiduously write
