My Lot

It’s just dark enough

to hide inside my

shadow, and no one should see me

waiting alone under the streetlight.

To hide inside my

faith tonight is foolish, and

waiting alone under the streetlight

might attract more than crazed moths.

Faith tonight is foolish

because I see him standing there and

I might attract more than crazed moths.

And I am afraid

because I see him standing there.

I try not to let my thoughts run,

and I am afraid.

He crosses the empty street now and

I try not to let my thoughts…RUN!

But he crosses the empty street now and

it’s just dark enough.
