My love.

My love,

I don’t need anything as much as I need you,

Not food or water,

I don’t need warmth or a house,

I could walk through the arctic without a coat,

Swim the seas without air,

Breathing has nothing on you.

I have decided to share my heart,

More intimately than I have ever known.

I am both riddled with fear,

And charged with excitement.

I could face anything so long as you were there.

A charging elephant,

A stampede of horses,

A Monday morning.

My love,

People say we don't know what love is.

People don't believe we will last.

But they don't know we can be happy outside of a relationship,

That you are my best friend no matter what.

We know what love is,

The question is,

Do they?

-yours forever
