My Love

“They called me an old bat,

But not you, my love.

They called me a hag,

But not you, my love.

My hair is white,

My bones ache,

I am shrinking day by day.

Yet you, my love,

See past all of that,

And love me for me.

I can’t remember much

But you keep me sane.

I feel you lying here

Beside me in our bed.

You, my love,

Told me to stay strong

When you are gone.

And I have,

Till the very end.”
