My Love for Her

They say I'm crazy,

They say she's no good for me.

But her skin, sweet at the sun,

and her eyes flow like words

or the ocean.

They say that Summer is using me,

But I don't believe that,

She tells me not to,

That she's not gonna be around later,

But she's here for me now.

They say that loving her is toxic,

that she comes for the longest day,

and falls along with the leaves.

But summer still remains,

In my skin, In my heart.

They say that thinking of her is no good,

But are first to be caught staring when the flowers wake.
