For My Love (Part I)

The plan is to let him finish undergrad
So that he can then move here
So we can finally be together
Without him throwing away his career.

We'll then be in grad school together
Living in a nice little apartment.
We'll finally be able to hold each other
And have all in the world that is relevant.

But it'll be four years before he's done
And has graduated with his degree,
And that is a very long time to wait
Of this he most certainly agrees.

Maybe "agrees" isn't the right word,
As in reality he is the one affected most.
Crying with insomnia every night
And feeling nothing but morose.

All he wants is to hold me to him
Cuddling at night with his arms around me.
He needs to hold my hand and feel my body
So we can finally be free.
